frank, it's done, I've already ordered it. this turbo kit is a waste of time and resources. the motor is not meant to have a turbo on it. it was built to be naturally aspirated.
when I have the funds to spend $ on a wideband and $ on a decent turbo and $ on a manifold and exhaust and $$$ to build a motor with forged components I'll do it.

right now I just want a z that I can drive.

It would be much easier to just change the ignition system then sending it back to stock. The 280z came with around 150hp stock. I really don't understand your thinking. Instead of trying to fix the problem your going to just get rid of the setup. Why don't you look into getting the ignition system from the zx. Or at least read up on it before you just give up on a simple issue.

In your dreams buddy. Anywho you've got another car. Save your cash you'll be able to do it in no time. Either that or just get a ignition module, cap and rotor from a 280zx and you would have spent less money then putting it back to stock. Your going to regret pulling that turbo off I garrantee. either that or you'll probably be an ignorant son of a bitch and say fuck it I should have stayed with a 350 then go back to your old ways.

not even kidding, the tag in the engine bay with all the engine info says 170 hp
I should just be an ignorant sonofabitch and put the vortec motor that's in my trans am in the z. but then I'd want to put a t56 on it.

either way, I started to pull the turbo off today and the seals are shot, it's leaking oil all over the place.

I agree with you. If you don't have the resources, why drive a half-assed car? When it's back to stock, you will have a nice reliable car to cruise around in. There is nothing wrong with that.
