Stop me from doing something stupid (Saab content)

I just got a new job in Albion (north of Batavia), and everyday I head up there, I see this car for sale:

And here's the story:

It looks like it has been there for a while. The grass under the car is getting pretty tall. Anyway, I was thinking that it if sits another month or two, taking a look at it and making a lowball offer.

For those of you that don't understand my enthusiasm for these things, I had a 95 turbo coupe a few years ago. To this day it was one of my favorite cars that I have owned. I have always wanted another one. Now that I make a little more money, I can finally afford to chip it and add an obnoxious BOV.

Here's the 95 i used to have (yes I still have the light bar):

Tell me this is one of my worst ideas in a while.

This is what I do when I want to buy something but think I will have buyer's remorse. Put the money for the car somewhere. In a separate bank account, in a safe, under the mattress, whatever. Then I wait a month or two and see if I still want it. If I do then I buy it. If not then either put the money in some CD or restart the process with another thing you want. I can never decide what I want so I'm constantly going through this.

Congrats on the job!

Pick it up, run her thru the winter, rub out the paint and sell it for profit! Done. Go for it.

Buy that new computer you were telling me about over winter but didn't have the balls to get then.

I think thats a much smarter decision.
