E30 - Stroker. My project. - 05-14-2009, 09:20 PM

So,
I have this e30.
- 88 s-eta bottom end
- I head
- 3.73 lsd
- Miller MAF setup

Insert crappy driveway photos here.

And it runs.
Kinda.

Overhauled a few things lately.
Is on m3 suspension. New plugs/wires/shift linkage/control arms/wheel bearing/fpr/

Current issues.
-Fenders / hood
-Wheel Bearing - Making a fun hum
-Gas gauge - needs a new sending unit on driver side.
-Mount radiator - held on by zipties.
-steering rack - Current one has play.
-blower motor - doesn't work.
-exhaust - or rather my lack of.

My biggest problem is the car hunts at idle and misfiring when wot from 3,000 up.

vacuum goes from 10-15 or so, But I can not find a leak anywhere.
The old fpr was bad, Pulled vac line off of it and it had fuel in it.
Replaced it with a 3.0 bar...Had a 2.5 bar on it.
This made the misfire much worse...Hooray!

Oh, and the 02 sensor doesn't appear to be hooked up.

oh project cars...

I think I might try ditching the maf setup.

Anyone have a afm box and the pigtail that goes to it?

You are feeding too much fuel more than likley.

If you are using the miller maf you really need a corresponding chip to utilize its potential.

Do the Millers have the ability to adjust the maf?

I know that with a stock MAf you can take off the top cover and there is an adjustment you can make to compensate for changes in fuel....

You NEED to reduce fuelby going to the 3 bar you again are feeding too much fuel (the injectors are expecting 36 psi and you are feeding 44 psi that will give you 20% too much fuel)

orly?

I know going 3 bar was going to feed more fuel.
But the 2.5 was shot and 3 bar is what i needed.

I asked miller mafs about getting me a chip and all they did is hype their new WAR chip....
I would rather not shell out 350 on engine management for a motor I plan on removing.

Most people with strokers run m20/m30 mafs / 3bar fpr /i ecu and some add a mark d chip and get decent results.

Sent ya a pm about the afm.
