Wow. That is a good price then. What do k04's run? I'd assume more than this setup?

I dont think those are the turbos that CTS had a group buy on. I dont think they even carry tials. CTS just started carrying the new gt eliminators for the 2.7t.

Besides who sells them, after seeing the dynos from the R650 kit that 034 put on someones car, it was not impressive for all of the money and effort put into it. I know AMD is making a new kit, the 770 or something. I havent been following that.

Im still interested in what these new GT eliminators are going to put out, since they are still eliminators and the stock manifolds are the best for performance.

There are finally alot of new choices of turbos for the 2.7t that dont require lots of custom work. We just need people to put them on their car and see what it can put down.

Correct, I was referring to the K04 price asked above.
other than reliability (as funny as that sounds when talkin about S4 parts) what is the major advantage with the ball bearing set up? faster spool?

Reliability, thats a funny term to throw around with the S. They are reliable cars if you dont beat the piss out of a 9 yr old car that has been beat on since day one. I dont care what anybody says how they baby it. They all are driven hard.

Getting back to the turbos at hand, it really depends on what size they are. I havent really searched to take alot at exhaust/cold side dimensions. For the price, Im guessing they are similar to a little bigger than k04s.

The big question is the ball bearing turbo better than a journal bearing turbo. In theory the BB should spool a little faster and be a tiny bit more efficient. But I have not seen data to prove it. It would be hard since there are so many factors involved.

I havent had a problem with my k03s. If you warm up, cool down and dont boost like crazy when the oil is cold you should be fine. Recently more performance shops deal with Garrett and Tial to make bolt on turbos for our car. Its easier and cheaper than work with BW.

I bought a pair of RS6s for my car. Hopefully I will put them in August once I get everything sorted and my tranny issue taken care of. Ill do some testing and logging of them so you can see when full boost comes on.
