i did the sand and buffing thing on my old civic. you need to start with 600 grit and work up to 2000 grit all wet sand paper. and then use rubbing compound and really work it in there. it def worked really well. but it is alot of work. it takes about 2 hours if you do it right and really work the 2000 grit and rubbing compound in. if you want some wet sand paper let me know i have like 100 sheets extra laying around.

2 hours, damn. I've done this on 3 seperate cars I've owned. Didn't buy
the kit I started with 800, 1000, 1500, and finally 2500. Next was Norton
abrassive rubbing compound and a wool pad. Finished with a foam pad
and finishing glaze. This was about 6 months ago, and one of the
headlamps is starting to get foggy again. Took me about 30 mins.
The next time I do this I'm going put some clear coat on there.
We have a guy that comes into the dealership that does this type of work for us from time to time, he charges $55 for this procedure and they come
out flawlessly. Part of the reason the fog/haze comes back is that after
you sand the headlamps there is no clear or UV protectant left on them.
Finishing up with a coat of clear should prevent any haze coming back, well at least a lot longer than they would without it.

About 3 months, Dan and I polished them up in January of last year and they were haggard by April. Thus GLI headlights for my birthday.

I know that some kits work better than others, the DIY on the Vortex is pretty intense would probably work.

I used a junky kit on my beetle and that one made the lights shiny for maybe 2 weeks.

praise the lowered.

Eff. I'll give it a whirl with some clear coat I guess. I would mind doing it yearly but every 3 months is not worth it.

Thanks for the advice peoples.
