While doing a WOT tune with megasquirt, a valve decided to drop into cylinder 2 at redline.
The noise and smoke that shot out the back were pretty bad.
I thought maybe I just blew the head gasket.

Sitting on the 990 waiting for a tow

After a push down the Sweethome Ramp, thanks to Adam, Seamus and Walt, we got it hooked up for a tow back to Adam's garage. (Seamus tells me the RM's look hot when rolling :) )

We decided to pull the spark plugs to see if we could turn it over by hand
until we saw this

I quick look down into the cylinder, you can see what's left of the plug and a valve :(

Now I gotta figure out what the future is gonna be.
Strive for something faster?

I have done a few wheel bearings before but on a MKII and the rear which is a lot simpler than the front. My question is, do I need the VW specific tool to get the bearing out? My stockish exhaust is all kinked up and very restrictive in spots and Since i have it out already I was looking to do something about it.
Even if i can get a straight pipe made I'll be happy since I can always add muffler/resonator on my own. I can weld and have expanders accessible.
Let me know, or if you have an exhaust you'ld sell I'm all ears

I knew the headlights were cloudy, but I didn't realize just how bad they were. The area behind the trim was factory clear.
