I put up a feeler a few years ago, but decided to keep the car once I moved out to the sticks. But now it's really for sale, as I bought another summer toy. If it doesn't sell, I'll sit on it until spring.
The car:
1969 Beetle 'vert. Yellow/black, 4-sp manual. I've owned it for a few years and I've been driving it steady (during fair weather) since then. I bought it in Middleport, but know very little about it's past before that. It runs and drives great. I can't remember it ever leaving me stranded. It's definitely "driver" condition. It's a really fun cruiser and it turns heads, but close-up it's a bit rough around the edges. I've replaced cosmetic parts here and there on it, and planned on restoring it completely, but with a house to deal with I just don't have the time.

The body is pretty good. No rust besides a bubble here and there. The floors are good, same with the frame. The previous owner POR-15ed the underside. I can't see any evidence of major past body damage, ie really tweaked aprons or anything like that. The paint looks good from a distance but isn't fantastic at all. The biggest issue: Convertibles have extra supports underneath that run along each side, and someone removed them. Replacing them is common as they often rust, so they are readily available aftermarket. I can't weld, so I never got to it. The top functions properly, no issues with the frame or anything. It's got a few splits starting, and could use new seals. I drove it in the rain without leakage, but I always garaged the car to keep water out. I rarely drive with the top up! The rear window is glass and original. I bought some good original (not the poor quality AM ones) bumpers, NOS tails, and re-did original running boards.

Interior- Decent shape for the most part. It's got the original seats (re-covered with stock material) and everything else. I installed new modern retractable seat belts. They're made by the same company who makes them for new cars, and specially made for a Beetle, so they mounted in the stock locations only. The dash was never hacked. Gauges all work. Original wheel, original "cardboard" glove box.

The rest: It always starts right away, and warms up properly, even after sitting all winter. No overheating whatsoever. I haven't really done much mechanically, just normal oil changes, valve adjustments, seals and lines, etc. I did some brake work. I replaced one drum with a NOS one (for those who remember the squeak squeak squeak noise it used to make all the time, I found the issue!:biggthump) I have NOS tailpipes to go on. No shifting or transmission issues. It probably need a wheel bearing. I just noticed one of my brakes is sticking, so I want to adjust that before sale. Same with the headlight that's out. All other lights work fine.

Basically, it's a driver plain and simple. Not a perfect car, but it's over 40 years old. Fix a few things and drive it, or completely restore it. It's a blast to drive, and there aren't many non-Super Beetle convertibles around. It's easy to work on, and parts are plentiful. I'm sure I forgot little things. Yes, you can drive it home if you're local, I've done 3 hour round trips, and I'd do more without worry. It's insured as a classic though Hagarty ($200 a year, full coverage, agreed value) so I'll leave it on the road until it sells, for test drives/transport. It may not be April, but there are still a few good months left! If it doesn't sell, I'll store it until spring. I'm located in North Collins, 15-20 minutes past Hamburg. $4200

I only have some old pics, but I'll get some as soon as I get some time this weekend. Not much has changed except the replacement parts mentioned. I'm not listing it for sale anywhere else until I "have all my ducks in a row" so to speak- 2 days ago I wasn't planning on selling this car at all!
