Hello Steelies - 05-25-2009, 11:54 PM

Hey whatsup guys im pretty new to this. The names matt an i own a 2000 vw golf 2.0 and iv never been into moding or changin up my vdub until my friend (Rieske) had showed me magazines with dubs consisting of lowered and altered stances of vdubs. This really peakd my interest especially in wide steelies which lead me into "were can you get them". I seen weller steelies and i also heard you can widen steelies by yourself even though it was a tough process. If anyone has any info let me know especially about the steelies about were, how to get them. Thanks

any wheel shop can usually widen a wheel for you by cutting the barrel in two and welding a new piece of metal between the two. you can also purchase them pre widened. welcome

Diamond Racing wheels will build you wtf ever you want. they are RACE wheels, and WILL bend b/c our roads are shit. ask anyone who's got custom made steels from Diamond, they'll bend. but you can hammer them back strait, bent plenty back working for Bender as that's the brand they used on the cuplites. there's actually a big wrench looking tool for bending steel wheel lips back into shape.

buy these.

VWvortex Forums: mk4 widened steelies MA pickup only 16x8/9 with mint tires

IMO if you're going to widen wheels you need to go wider than these BUT, 8''s and 9''s are a good jumping off point and the price is decent.

praise the lowered.
