i'm holding out that AT&T will build a tower close to arcade/springville/southern cow towns as verizon is the only thing that works while i'm at work. i close on my house in west seneca so i won't have to deal with an inoperative phone when i move out of the Boston Valley. i had AT&T before Cingular bought them out and then they switched back to AT&T yet again... what a pain. i got shafted when i moved to CT and they didn't support the older (damn near new) phone i had b/c the tower didn't broadcast the frequency i had.

cell phones as a whole suck... with the billions of dollars worth of technology invested the rate of packet loss on the average cell phone voice call is beyond comprehension. LAME, very lame indeed.

Verizon did credit all the ones I had. No issue, they did it right away.

Unfortunately if this is like email SPAM it isn't going to work very well. You can block up to 15 addresses, but as we all know they change very time. We'll have to see.

I've never had this problem with AT&T and Sprint.

We've got AT&T. My wife and I have been seeing SPAM messages from people advertising their MySpace page...annoying!

Hopefully you never will, but they really have nothing to do with it. Somehow or other the spammers are getting phone numbers and then you're sunk. If they start selling it, it gets worse. Programatically it's not hard to start with a seed number and just generate numbered lists to send to. It might only be a matter of time before every single person gets hit.

I wish these were only MySpace ads!

I'll bleep out the nasty parts from the one I got yesterday...

I went to vtext.com to enter the addresses to block and guess what...nothing there. The Verizon website is clumsy at best, but I couldn't find anything in my account to do something like that. But I did find a new feature which I never saw before. I have a setting for parental controls. So, what the heck I set it for a 7yr old kid. Appropriate I guess, I can act that way sometimes.

Let's see what happens now.
