My dad does photography there, and my step-mom works there too. They have both been there forever and they seem happy with the company.

Unless she resides in India, getting a job in E.A. is probably out. They are in the process of outsourcing a bunch(more). My friend works for a contracting company and was assigned there and they just let all but a few people go. They are left to train the overseas people to take their jobs. Ruined his company, just about put them out of business.

No manufacturing in E.A. any more at all. The warehouse/manufacturing buildings are all vacant. Have been for a few years.

ejg's an IE so i'm guessing his friend is also some type of engineering... FP is always at UB looking for decent engineering grads.. unfortunately they might tell your friend the same thing everyone says: apply online.

pm me for one of the hiring hr reps email address.. it may speed things up.

I would say you couldn't be more wrong. There is only one warehouse and it is packed to the ceiling. They do all sorts of shipping and receiving out of it. Accounting, legal, design, engineering, mechanical design, sound studio, photography, sales, marketing, IT, shipping/receiving, facilities, HR, PI, Model Services and more all take place here at the East Aurora campus. We are not outsourcing any of our current Jobs and we are not training anyone to take them overseas. Just because your friend that was hired as a third party contractor got laid off doesn't mean shit. There have been a few articles in the paper lately how Fisher-Price has no intentions of going anywhere. There hasn't been production here in at least 20 years. The campus currently has about 900 full time employees.

P.S. - I work at Fisher-Price.

It wasn't just him, I believe it was 23 or 24 people. My other friend was in charge of the marketing part of that operation and she is one of the ones doing the outsource training. She's with all the people from India trying to teach them what all her people used to do.

They also took all of the injection molding support that was done here is now out of Venezuala. Another friend was a machinist and lost his job.

I had a lot of friends who were in produiction and purchasing, all production support and that is all gone.

What exactly were they doing - the 24 people who lost their jobs? It has been at least 10 years since 23 or 24 full-time employees have been laid off. I wouldn't base any of your information off of third party contractors who got laid off. Even Fisher-Price's call center is here in EA. The Injection presses left when production left a long...long time ago. There is still an injection press here though along with a couple giant blow mold machines. they are used almost every day for rapid tooling / testing.

again, production and closley related jobs left at least 20 years ago. I think your info is a bit dated.

Who was the machinist? There has only been one person laid off in the past six years who has worked in the shop.

muddyvw I take it that you work there?

I've worked in EA for a very long time now and I drive by FP almost everyday in the fall and winter. I had no idea all that goes on there. They ever give tours of that place? It would be pretty interesting to see how that place operates

I do, I build prototype toys. I don't think there have been any public tours recently but I could be wrong. There should be if there isn't though. I will find out.

This is correct she is a mech E and I am an IE to different fields, manufacturing for me has to be in the area for her it doesnt matter as she will just do design and prototype work. you have PM.
