FS: cheap 96 vr6 gti on nyspeed - 08-26-2010, 05:03 PM

he didnt post it here, so i figured i would try to help him out. i went and checked it out a few nights ago, and the body is meh, but the interior is in good shape. motor seems to run good, but the strut tower rot is BAD. scary bad. had no idea a mk3 vr's strut towers would rot like this

he claims the car needs a new tranny, but im 99.99999% sure it is a linkage issue

Ive seen the car I agree its not the transmission. linkage or clutch issue.
car would make a great doner... the strut tower is horride, could cut and weld in a new one the rest of the body is solid
