Will this Rub or stick out terrible on VW Rabbit? - 03-15-2010, 05:14 PM

I recently have been looking at new rims, and ive decided on a set that I really like. I'm not into that sporty race look so ive found other rims that I really enjoy and that is a set of 100 spoke chrome rims (I dont want to hear the complaints that it will look ugly, cause ive seen some Rabbits with them and they are sick) I just need to know if a rim 18" x 8" will rub on a 2007 VW Rabbit. I asked the sellers of the rims and they said I would have to modify the wheel well to make these fit so they dont rub and or stick out past the fenders. I also plan on purchasing Rovert's 50mm lowering springs as well to lower the vehicle.

18" 100 SPOKE LOWRIDER WIRE RIMS CHROME WHEELS BUICK : eBay Motors (item 300161835715 end time Apr-02-10 1743 PDT)

also to see a rabbit with the wire spoke rims check out the below website and scroll down until you see car of the month for July, its a red rabbit.

For reference he has 20" wheels not 18"

Also tire stretch and spacers can help fitment. They don't list an offset, you're going to want to know that before you buy them.

praise the lowered.

Well, if you are going for a ghetto look, I guess that's how you go about it.

haha not going to get alot of praise for these but you need to find the offset of these wheels and then someone can tell u if they fit

If they're 18x8 the absolute lowest you want the offset to be is et35.

With 215/35 or 215/40 tires you shouldn't have any rub issues.

Definitely find out what offset is though. That's a huge factor.

And will definitely want coilovers and not just springs. You'll need to be pretty damn low to pull this off

Coil overs huh? springs wont do this you dont think? to get it to look decent... I sent the sellers a message to ask the offset, with my luck they are going to be around 25.

Did do some more searching and I really like the style of the wheels at this site, not the color lol but the style. I would take this look over the wire rims since its got that feel

Get coil overs. You're wasting your money when it comes to springs.

Also get wheels you like but don't waste your money on garbage. My friend had 100 spokes on her 20th for about a month. The uniqueness really wore off.

praise the lowered.

yeah if u go for somethin like that youll want to be pretty low for it to look anything like good. i like ur style tho- no fucks given. do what makes you happy. just dont half ass it.

the BBS you posted- they will cost you probably 1/4 what you paid for ur car so id reconsider thinkin about them haha. theres a ton of differnt styles out there, i acctuly like the spoked wheel idea.. idk what color ur bunny is but maybe buy them and spray them matte black? get some white wall tires or something. but ill agree with dan- if u go that rout ull need to get coilovers.. a set that will take ur car really low. else my springs are still up for grabs!

woo wooooo wooooooooooo
