Thank you gentlemen. <3 you too Jack. I'm actually not going to be in town this weekend, not that I'd have anything to show anyways, haha. Let me know how the show goes!

In recent news:

1. I've got a package coming tomorrow which should be pretty exciting. Well, at least minimally entertaining. Haha, pictures when it gets here. Once I get that, and I get the motor mounts straight, I should be ready to at least get a test fit of the motor in the car. . .

2. Timing belt. Before the motor goes back in the car, this is something that obviously has to be replaced. As I'm sure many of you know, I have to get the crank pulley off before any of this is possible. I need to see if I can make up some sort of spanner wrench that will hold the pulley/crank while I loosen the bolt. Something like this: http://z.about.com/d/autorepair/1/0/t/C/78597997.gif

3. German Auto Parts = Awesome. I ordered some parts mid-day thursday, and they were to my door by friday. They never fail me.

Update: So today I spent hours (as usual,) cross referencing between the bentleys and my wiring harnesses. It was a blast. I now have most of the wiring labeled, and my confusion and swear words printed nicely on a notepad, haha. Pictures and stuff later.

Moving the CIS os not that bad you just have to cut the hell out of the lower air box for it to fit. It basically goes from an air box to a retaining ring lol.

Thanks Ted, I may have to take you up on that, but we'll see. And Eli, I'm really excited to cruise with yours, so get working on it!

In the notes I've been taking in preparation of the swap, I quoted someone on the vortex as saying that you have to, "hack the shit out the airbox to make it fit." Haha, We'll see how it goes. . .

Okay, so my package got here. I know there are a lot of haters on raceland products, but I decided to give them a try. I've talked to quite a few people that have been very happy with their products, and with their prices, I couldn't go wrong. This reasoning is probably how they make most of their money, haha.

Anyways, I decided to order a header from them. It's a 4-2-1 stainless header, designed to adapt the 1.8 or 2.0 16v into the mk1 chassis. The pictures that raceland has on their site, as well as those that I've seen on the vortex seemed to illustrate pretty decent build quality, and nice looking welds. After handling it, this seems to be pretty close to the truth.

Here are some pictures I promised. Hopefully I'll be able to test fit the header on the engine this weekend.

(Benny likes to get in all of my pictures, haha.)

PS - I also found it interesting that in the brochure raceland sent me, it listed a mk1 8v header, which many people on the vortex have been all up in a tizzy waiting for. It's not listed on the website yet, but just thought I'd let anyone interested know.
