Someday I'll remember my camera. Some day. Until then, all I'll have are my crappy phone pictures, but I digress. . .

Today I spent some more time working on the wiring, and actually made some pretty good progress. It was one of those days where stuff starts coming together, and you close up for the night feeling accomplished. It was a welcome feeling, haha. The big thing I got done was with the shifter linkages.

Because I'm using a mk2 020 trans, (I chose this for the more highway friendly ring and pinion ratio. All of the other gear ratios are the same.) there are certain things which need to be changed. Any 020 will certainly bolt into a mk1 chassis, but things like motor mounts/brackets and shifter linkages need to be switched to match the chassis. I've got a couple shitty pics below explaining. While I switched over the linkages, I also installed new bushings and rods. It was crazy how much slop I had in it before. It was kinda like my own security device for the car, because nobody could find the gears but me, haha.

So I'm happy for tonight's progress. I've still got a whole bunch to go, but it's getting there. Steps for changing shifter linkages over:

Just some others:

Haha, kinda. It's a project circa 2004 before I had any cars. It does wheelies and stuff, and you can actually shift through the gears, haha.

Quick question: Does anybody know which pulleys to use for an ac and ps delete on a 16v? I know that I can use the 16v crank pulley and my 8v alternator pulley, but then am unsure about the water pump pulley. The offset is incorrect with the stock 2.0 16v one. I know that there is another vw pulley which may be used. Once I figure out the proper water pump pulley, I can use my ac belt to connect the three pullies. Look at how many times I just said pulley.

Here is what I'm going for:
