How about a '90 CoupeQ for $1k. In good shape but still qualifies as project status. Just doesn't have the rust bucket worries since it from down south and is galvanized as well. Have an awesome final build when done too.

If your budget is $500, you're mostly looking at a Honda and that's not a bad thing.

Hondas can be all of the things a vw can be, but actually fast...

To me, a vw "project" is just making a vw pass inspection, a honda project can be so much more than that.

and omg wagon attack is awesome

interested, pm

as to you Jam and Jaywonch, that civic wagon is the one honda i WOULD buy. I didn't even know those existed.

Also I'm going to look at a 85 325e soon for $600. But its an e, and i've heard bad things about the design of the engine, something about the intake. But the e came with an lsd i think.

I had an 84 325e. I'm pretty sure you're looking at an M20B27 engine.

I threw on a chip and some spec e30 suspension and it was a blast.

Few did come with a stock LSD, which is pretty rad. But since it's the E its likely a 2.93, but an 85 may have had a 2.79:1, I can't remember.

At any rate, its a solid engine, just very lacking in performance without modifications.

Parent's house in the summers between semesters. My dad has a construction company that builds houses and he always stores stuff in the garages of the houses he's building, so thats where the project will stay in the winter.

Just looking for something to tinker on in the mornings before work as I only work after 4pm at my job.

3 is always profit.
